Bowling Green (win) 1-0
Portland State (win) 2-0
San Jose State (win) 3-0
Stanford (win/push) 4-0 I think if we played Stanford on the road I'd be a lot more concerned. Also, playing 3 weak teams to start the year should allow a lot of reps for backups which will be important.
California (win) 5-0 I love Cal's coaching staff but they lack the talent to do much.
Washington (push/loss) 5-1 Can we beat UW? Of course! Will we? Probably not. But I do think it will be a very close game. As much as I hate the Huskies with a passion, I think they have the edge. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if we win and we will deserve it.
Washington State (win) 6-1 For some reason they seem to have our number, but this should be an off season.
Arizona (loss) 6-2 Playing at AZ has been a problem for us. AZ is really on an up-tick and I just have a feeling we're getting ambushed.
UCLA (win) 7-2 Year after year they get kudos for their recruiting but underperform badly. I doubt Kelly turns it around in less than one year. He's also grooming a new QB and I think they will have to take their lumps.'
Utah (win) 8-2 Always a solid team, but depth is a problem for them. Tough game, but we pull away late.
Arizona State (win) 9-2 Down year for ASU.
Oregon State (win) 10-2 Another win over our little brothers to the north. I see good things there. I think in about 3 years they can be 3 or 4 game winners again.
OK, this is thru Duck-colored glasses. But we have a weak schedule and key games, aside from AZ, are at Autzen. I think, barring injuries, our worst case scenario is 7-5 and more likely 8 or 9 wins.
