LOL. NOBODY in Austin is worried about Jay Norvell leaving. Or Chris Vaughn. Nearly all of the offensive staff needed to go, and Vaughn's contract wasn't renewed.

There's nothing to spin. If he got a better gig, god bless him.

Texas exodus continues as 2015 play-caller reportedly departs

So, is this going to get spun into Charlie invited him to leave?

Or did Jay leave in the spirit of self-preservation?

He got a title bump and a pay raise. This has been speculated for 2 months. New OC coming in and he has the right to bring in new coaches. Vaughn was a surprise and a potential loss. I like the spin comment, it is a bit ironic. His contract was not renewed in Jan. All year OU fans were happy to tell Texas fans that Norvell was a poor coach, now the same fan base is claiming it is a major loss.

Fact that you used the word spun, would imply that there is a need to spin this into a positive
So, it's already a positive is what you're saying.

Considering they hired a new playcaller a few months ago, this shouldn't be a surprise

1) Texas was dead last in receiving corps in the Big 12. Even Kansas had better receivers.
As a receivers coach, it wasn't exactly world shattering innovation.

2) Norvell was the interim playcaller as a stop gap mid-season.
A fulltime playcaller was hired over a month ago.

3) Norvell did not recruit much either. That wasn't his primary role. He was decent but not a superstar.

4) The team was (5-7) not (11-1) with the old coaches.

So, why exactly should we even try and SPIN this one?

It spins itself with almost no effort.

I said it was expected. His contract wasnt renewed over a month ago. Unlike some, I am not trying to making into something it is not

In every measurable way. Will we ever see Texas bound back?

No. We should probably just end the football program and concentrate on badminton.
