As of last night, the Dolphins were preparing to fire head coach Joe Philbin, per league sources. Dolphins owner Stephen Ross always could change his mind, but the organization was preparing to make a move as soon as today, per sources. Should Ross follow through with his plan, Dolphins tight ends coach Dan Campbell would be the leading candidate to become the interim head coach and replace Philbin.

2 years in a row then if this is true that London has not been very good to the losing team's coach.

Actually, Tannenbaum and the GM are the dudes that assembled this roster. In the end, they're going to be shown the door very soon too, so to try to save themselves they need to blame it on somebody.

tony sporano was the best thing to happen to the Dolphins since Dan Marino.

Bring him in and turn shit around.

The problem is that the talent is better than what it was 4 years ago but Philbin couldn't get the best out of them. Not saying those guys should win GM of the year but they're not solely the problem.

Coyle is actually the main culprit here but apparently Philbin wouldn't turf him so Ross had no choice but to can him. I'm expecting Coyle to go as well if not that would be grand larceny!!!

They have no depth...do you think anybody but a Dolphins fan can name their starting DBs or LBs? Everyone knows about Wake, Suh, Vernon and Grimes but other than that there is very limited talent on that D.

To be honest homer I was always concerned about the coaching but hoped that the players could overcome this. I also hoped that maybe they would get better over time....very wrong to assume this!

Expectations were pretty high in pre-season, right? This was the most talent that they have had in a while, all that jazz?

Seems like a nice guy that will get another job next year.

Not as bad as you think the Fins just don't get a lot of national spotlight but they were being hyped because of their talent not for shits and giggles. They were simply supposed to get better with age and instead they took a step back as the coaches misused their talent....

He should be nothing more than a coordinator he just doesn't have that HC personality. Definitely a nice guy though and understands the game but you could tell by ill advised TO's and a lack of play calling during the crunch times in games.

They were getting hype because they had a good DL and signed Suh. As is usual, the media jumps on the "off-season" winner and hypes them up as the next big thing. Unfortunately the don't consider the cost in terms of depth to sign the big FA prize. This can be seen annually...

He wasn't the current GM's choice.

Hard to remember another guy getting fired this early. Should have done it in the offseason if the faith was so little.
