21 in 12 gets my vote

Reggie was a beast, i think if someone got 21 in 12...then the ones after can be added for a new record. Maybe that happened, i dont really pay attention to football anymore
Yeah, for sure. That 87 season was something else. It is kind of like in the NHL when Rocket Richard's 50 goals in 50 games was so hard for anyone to match. Then Mike Bossy did it and Gretzky followed that up by saying hold my beer and got his 50th in game 39 en route to his record 92 goals and then record 212 points.

In my book Justin Houston currently holds the record. Didn't need a Mickey Mouse sack like Strahan against Brett Favre.

With that said, the answer is yes. TJ Watt will have the record.

Rumors are Strahan had dick pics of Favre and was threatening to release them. It escalated to the agent 28.42 - 48 hours prior and this was the result. .

Officially tied after his 1st sack of the game was removed. The Elias Sports Bureau will be reviewing the game and could overturn the stat. If they award him the sack, then he breaks the record.

I didnt see the QB give himself up. I saw him try to get away
I think they are questioning whether or not he was a runner? I don't know. Everyone is reporting it differently.

The last time the single-season sack record was broken (Strahan) was accomplished in a manner far more insulting to the game than if the league should overturn its decision & award Watt the sack after the fact would be.

So even with this, officiating takes center stage instead of the players on the field? Ffs, Goodell and the owners have to see this and get things right. The entertainment value is getting ruined by fuck-ups and covid.

I could see them saying with the fumble the QB now became a RB.

I can see both sides of that coin, and I'll accept whatever the final decision is.

I'd rather they just leave it the way it is.

If they give him the sack for the record after the fact, then it'll always feel tainted like Strahan/Favre, because there is just as good an argument to consider Huntley a runner as a QB at that point.

Just keep TJ hungry to try to break the record next year.

You make a good point about after the fact. Most of us will see TJ's record as it is legit over Strahans anyway.

However records are adjusted all the time, so if they adjust, and people say it's not legit, wouldn't that fuel him more?

The Ratbirds did him dirty. That was a sack if QB had the option to throw the ball.

I guess I could see that scenario (if that has been a consistent ruling in the past) but the thing I was reading & responding too, was that the QB gave himself up which is why it wasnt a sack. Which in that case. I never seen him give himself up.

I just think the fumble changed it. If it was a clean snap yet the rest of the play went the exact same way its called a sack immediately, and this isn't even a discussion.

Will see how it's ruled soon enough.

I find it crazy that a bunch of tackles on aborted snaps are recorded as sacks every year and yet they won’t award TJ his? Ok
