Does listening to a game on the radio connote "watching it"?

Don't rightly know, but I prefer listening on the radio to watching. That way I can do other stuffs and still know what's going on.

Plus, I like the Mets radio team better than their TV guys.

But I would never say that I "watched" the game last night when I had merely listened. Does anyone do that?

That was my basic question. Like if someone said "Did you catch the game last night?" I am utterly confused at what my response would be.

FOLLOW UP QUESTION

What qualifies more as "watching the game"- listening on the radio, or following on MLB.com's Gameday with their little balls and strikes to the hitter. I say Gameday, especially since they give highlights during the games. I love following the Phils on there when I'm traveling.

I hear ya...if they used the word "catch," i might be inclined to just say yeah, but more likely I would say "yes, I caught the radio broadcast."

And hell yeah I love those info-graphic dealies w/ the interspersed highlights. As long as I get approximately real-time data on a game, I'm good with that.

These may not be the same question...

No i'm just saying. That question could be interpreted in a radio way by the questionee.

They might say "Yeah, i heard it on the radio while mowing the lawn" or whatever.

But to them that might mean "catching" the game.

Oh and to answer the question, I say no.

"Watching" the game involves witnessing the live action via TV, streaming video, DVR, actually being there, etc.

All other things like gameday, listening to the radio broadcast, etc - that's not watching the game, in my book. I would categorize that as "following" the game.
