I was pretty well against this idea until I heard that there would be a ton of former Huskers playing. The games would be played on friday nights which would be a fun warm up for fans coming in from out of town heading to Lincoln to watch the Huskers play the following day. Of course they would have to make the trek from Omaha to Lincoln the next day, but still it would be kinda fun seeing former Huskers play and then going and seeing the current Huskers the next day.
I am thinking that you just can't compete with Husker Football. Its not the same pagentry. I am originally from Kearney we had the Tri-City Diesel (played in same league as the Beef) and it failed miserably because people wanted to see something much more like the atmosphere of college football.
last year this league sent 30 guys to the NFL
the reading rusher in the league was cory ross
i see a lot of former huskers trying to keep the nfl dream going
i would go to watch ross, lucky, hardy, purify, etc
a uno guy denny should do it, i would really like to watch this
put it on fridays and screw high school
if they keep the players regional, then we couldhave huskers, hawkeyes, jayhawks etc, i think it will work in omaha if there is a connection to the players
fear the tutle!!!
