It's funny how us being 6-5 is somehow evidence of the B1G sucking. Considering we beat Florida, SLU, and Virginia (maybe the three hottest teams in America) out of conference, doesn't that fit into the "B1G beats each other up" rationale?
Wisconsin was never in any trouble. They've been a top 4 seed the entire year based on out of conf play. Ohio St did slip up but they've righted themselves and now look like they will finish 4th or 5th in the league.
The conference really doesn't have any terrible teams. Purdue is the worst team in terms of RPI rank and they are barely outside the top 100.
I think they are quality teams and will both be above 8 seeds in the tournament.
But I think our impression went from them being Championship contenders to teams that will struggle to advance far in the tournament. They are both really weird. Both could lose to some scrub team and then beat a top 5 team. I just don't think they will play solid for 6 straight games.
You never know though. Michigan played horrible down the stretch last year. I remember them losing at Penn State in March when Penn State was the worst team in the Big Ten and one of the worst teams in any power conference. Then they rallied to make it all the way to the championship game and almost won. Probably would have if not for Hancock playing the best game of his career off the bench.
Wisconsin has some talent and should receive a decent seed in the NCAA. Ohio State is not nearly the team everyone was expecting. Losing to Penn State at home was pathetic. Still think Aaron Craft is an excellent point guard. Love to have him here in Florida.
