I appreciate his passion for the game, but his shtick is getting old at this point. I honestly can't listen to him at this point anymore. If what came out is true and that Jurich didn't want to fire Pitino, there is no way he should keep his job at that point.

Yeah, he's just a parody of his former self at this point. He's not as visible as he once was, though.

He's 78. Based on physical appearance, he hasn't aged all that terribly. He's dramatically declined as an announcer as he's gotten older, though.

Mike Patrick has noticeably aged. He called the Wake Forest/Florida State football game over the weekend, and man, he looked like a total ghost. 70 is much kinder to some people than it is to others.

I agree, Vitale is a legend for sure but the time has come for him to retire. In terms of college announcers all-time I'd have him top 5.

Vitale is that guy who is fun to listen to if you're new to college basketball. After a few months, maybe shorter, everything about him gets old. Quick.
