Gardner told Fox Sports he was "sick" for Barrett.

"You hate to see any player get hurt but especially a guy like that, a great guy. J.T. is a high-character guy, a hard worker who waited for his shot and was doing so well with it. I was sick for him."

Gardner, a senior, says he and Barrett, a redshirt freshman, have spoken throughout the season.

"It's like having a little brother out there get hurt. I didn't want to see that at all."

He made a terrible choice for college. If he had any decent coaching, he would be a 1st round pick in the NFL as a WR. Hoke & Co. ruined his chances.

I've really enjoyed seeing Gardner get smacked and sacked - getting the living snot beaten out of him every weekend...but he keeps getting back up.

The kid's a gamer.
I hope he makes it at the next level - as a WR or TE.
