Dennis Dixon to be released?

Dennis Dixon - QB - Steelers

Dennis Dixon is in danger of losing his roster spot on the Steelers after briefly requesting a trade this week.
Per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, "right now" it appears the Steelers will keep Charlie Batch as their third-string quarterback over Dixon. Batch went 3-1 during Ben Roethlisberger's four-game suspension last year, so he's arguably earned the spot. He also has a cheaper salary than Dixon, who's owed $1.2 million.

If he didn't tear his ACL in college he would of been a first day draft pick when the steelers drafted him it was a steal in the 7th round...

He might be an interesting option as our third string QB.

this is unfortunate, I thought in the few minutes that Dixon played in he did a very good job for a young QB. Hopefully there is a future out there for him on a team where he can make a contribution.
