“I don’t have a lot of regard for that team,” Delany said in an interview with the Associated Press, channeling his inner Bobby Knight by not referring to the Tide by name. “I certainly wouldn’t have as much regard for that team as I would for someone who played nine conference games in a tough conference and played a couple out-of-conference games on the road against really good opponents.

Alabama beat the
SEC Champ after losing to them (only team allowed to play the team that beat them a second time)

I think that valid arguments could have been made that Alabama OR LSU were the best two teams..

Alabama should have never played in that game though ... period ...

You win your conference or you don't play for the natty .. plain and simple. Any arguments otherwise are weak.

Delany is the worst of the AQ conference commissioners. Not only is he one of the main reason we didn't have a playoff years ago, but now he goes around running his mouth like he knows something about football. The Big Ten needs to get smart and get rid of this clown.
