Hes sees the qb change coming….
A super mobile QB that may or may not be able to throw could totally wreck his stat line. Jimmy G kinda stinks at QB but he is still a functioning QB.

If I'm a team like the Saints and Im going all-in this year, I'd go after Deebo instead of a QB tbh. Really all of the teams that lost out on Watson and Hill should be in this race

You think SF is fetching a Hill package or more?

Deebo is about two years younger than Hill. I think the Niners should be able to get a 1st round pick outside of the top 13 or so players.

Jets could offer #10 and that would be a bit of an overpay but if you're the Jets then why not?

Could also lead him into a path of injury.

If the reports are true and Deebo is wanting a Hill-like contract, he can go ahead and pack his bags.

IIRC, Hill got the Chiefs about 1300 in chart value. The 1.10 pick is worth a little more than that, so the Niners should be ok getting it for Deebo.

Then again, in this year's draft is 1.10 really that good a pick to have? The Jets could offer similar value by giving up the 2.35, 2.38, and 3.69. Would the Niners rather have that? I have no idea.

They could get Wilson, London or Olave at 10 so that doesn't make sense of 4 years on a rookie contract + 5th year option rather than giving up a 1st and paying Deebo $20M/year....but this is the Jets we are talking about. For other teams it makes more sense. I think the 49ers can get a mid to late round 1st + more for him though.

Expensive bird in the hand vs. cheaper option of unknown quality. If I were the Jets, there is no way I'd offer 1.10 for Deebo, but like you said, they were ready to pay that and more for Hill, so who knows.

If Deebo only wanted 20M/yr, he'd already have an extension in SF. It'll cost well more than that.

Ohh for sure. He wants BIG money and guaranteed. I could see a DeShaun Watson type of guaranteed money for Deebo especially if traded to the Jets.

Pick 10 is good to have although maybe not for the Niners. OT and EDGE could still be good value there. Maybe Stingley, Kyle Hamilton or a top WR. I personally think a team would want the mix of later round picks over the one big pick. Jets included.

The Jets offering #10 for Metcalf was apparently just a rumor, in reality teams were calling offering Seattle two seconds. While Samuel just came off an electric season (and better than Metcalf), he's also 2 years older than Metcalf and has dealt with an injury, so I'd argue both would fetch a similar price.

Difference is Metcalf said he likes Seattle and is not asking for a trade, Samuel is.... so it's now a buyer's market for him (as he doesn't have to resign with San Fran after next season, or can hold out).

I'd imagine San Fran is looking for two firsts. IMO both Samuel/Metcalf should get more than Hill/Adams just based on age/upside (Adams and Hill have peaked - not that it's bad, but we shouldn't expect upside at this point). #10 overall is basically worth 2 late 1sts this year, or easily a 2022 later first and 2023 first... Samuel/Metcalf should warrant that kind of return, but it doesn't seem the market is there if the Jets offering #10 really wasn't true.
