80s by a lot over the 90s, and a little over the 70s for me.

1) '80s- Classics, the lot of 'em.
2) '90s- A close second with a lot to hang its hat on.
3) '70s- Really the pioneering decade for the genre.
4) '00s- Fuck you, you snot nosed shits! Get the fuck off my lawn!

Fast Times is my favorite movie so I'll have to go with the 80's. The Last American Virgin is kind of a forgotten one from the 80's.

Porky's will never be toppled from my list but I also like Dazed and Confused more than most.

I'm going to get the Porky's trilogy ordered. It's been way too long! :laughed:

I voted for the 90's, American Pie was epic, and Dazed and Confused is a cult classic, through in Mallrats, Faculty, Varsity Blues. The 2000's had only 2 movies that I can think of that I can still watch, Remember the Titans, and Eurotrip (Scotty doesn't know, hahaha) But man this was a tough vote, everything listed for the 80's are classics, along with Revenge of the Nerds, and one of my all time favorite movies The Dead poets Society. The 70's were good, but not up to the 80's or 90's, but Animal House is were everything started and it is at the top of any list you can write.

Dazed and Confused is great, up in the level of the best in the 70s and 80s..... American pie is okay. but other than that, that's all the 90s had. the rest were just ave.

CRap, forgot about Varsity Blues. Very good one.

Dead poets society is a good movie, but not the kind of 'party' type movie I was looking to include.

The 80s was stacked with movies that could've been in this category. could've listed 10 instead of 5. but was trying to hold it to 5 (especially since the 90s and 00s had so little to choose from.

Yea, thats a good one too, I agree. the 80s were tough to whittle down to just 5. Also could've included Just one of the guys and Zapped.

Yep. You also got Vision Quest and Back to school. 80s rule this category.

Animal House (1978)
American Graffiti (1973)
Caddyshack (1980)
Fist Times At Ridgemont High (1982)
Ferris Buellers Day Off (1986)
American Pie (1999)
Sixteen Candles (1984)
Dazed and Confused (1993)
Breakfast Club (1985)
Heathers (1988)

Forgive my outside-the-lines, musing-through-my-fingers post, but each decade has some winners and losers in this category. I do not belive that one decade is "fatter" with the "good stuff" than the others. My viewpoint is purely subjective - How well did I enjoy the films and how much do I remember from them?

This one time, in band camp...

I will give you that, but at the same time you did ask about HS movies and this is about a HS English Teacher. I can also throw in Mr Hollands opus in the 90's another wonderful HS/Family movie.

Again, I wasn't looking to include "serious" movies. and Yes Mr. Hollands opus is a good movie, but it isn't the kind of movie you would compare to the "HS/College Party" movies that was the point of this thread.

Like I said, it was hard to narrow down the 80s list. Just way too many good ones, but I was sticking to a limit of 5 for each decade. I do suppose the more accurate way to come up with the top 5 would be to include movies considering what each has broought in moneywise since they were released.

and yes, Weird Science and Revenge of the Nerds was hard to leave out.

IMHO, if you took the "2nd string" movies from the 80s, (movies #6-#10) - overall they'd be better than the best from the 90s and 00s....... From 1991 - present, the best they can boast is Dazed and Confused, American Pie, and Varsity Blues. The rest are B movies.........

Usually hate "spoof" movies but Not another teen movie was hilarious.
Another one that hasn't been mentioned is Girl next door. The av nerd kinda reminds me of a friend of mine "F*ck her for me" lol....
