I just noticed that Herrmann is in RF for todays game. Wonder who the backup catcher will be?

It annoys me every time I see Ahmed in the Lineup.

Umpire asks for help to see if the catcher dropped the ball on the strikeout. Was clearly a catch which he then dropped when transferring to his other hand. Ruled a strikeout. Nice to see the umpire ask.

1-1 end of 1st.

Nick Ahmed with another error. Plus his average is down to .167 right now. Somebody needs to hold Hale accountable for this because it is inexcusable to play someone everyday when they are as horrible a hitter as Ahmed.

Bradley needs to be traded. Not going to get much but maybe package him with owings and go get a decent outfielder. I think he can still be good but this is clearly one of those "he needs a change of scenery" instances

I thought you only posted after losses... game isn't over yet but... REALLY! why are you breaking with tradition?

Bradley is up for a spot start. He will be back in Reno tomorrow. I thought he did okay. 6 innings, gave up 7 hits and 4 runs, but I think there was at least one error and a couple messy infield misteps behind him as well. Pitching in Colorado, against a fairly hot hitting team. Didn't get a shutout, or a no-hitter but not bad.

Really impressive win. Showed a lot of heart to come back like that after going down 4-1. And Bradley dug in and pitched pretty well I thought.

I think they do need to make a gut check decision about the guy. It's been long enough where he probably should have made a bit more progress, but he's still young enough where teams will give him a pass due to his "potential". If they were ever going to trade him, now would be the time.

Another dud of a start for Bradley though. It was not good. Six innings, 4 walks, 7 hits, 4 earned runs. His ERA is 7.84 so he fits right into the rotation. I'd like to see him get another start though since Colorado is a rough lineup and a rough place to play.

Saw someone post it on Twitter, but it made a lot of sense. They finally look like their out there having fun, instead of looking miserable. Their talent is finally showing.

I think you guys are being too hard on Bradley. He has only started 9 games in his career. Plus he had that freak injury last year that derailed his season and he came back before he was ready. I honestly thought he pitched pretty well yesterday. The Rockies lineup is really good and pitching in Coors field is a pitcher's nightmare. Chatwood's ERA coming into the game yesterday was 2.15 and the Diamondbacks scored 6 runs off of him.

Max Scherzer did not become a truly dominant pitcher until his sixth season. It can take a lot of time for pitchers to realize their potential. The Diamondbacks gave up on Scherzer way too early. I would hate to see them do that with Bradley. I would keep him on the team for at least a few years honestly. It is not like he is a big contract that is not producing so the team can afford to keep him for a very long time.

As expected, Bradley was sent back down. Doesn't look like they called up another reliever though.

5/10/16 Arizona Diamondbacks optioned Archie Bradley to Reno Aces.
5/10/16 Arizona Diamondbacks signed free agent CF Michael Bourn to a minor league contract.

Picked up Bourn and sent him to Mobile. The Braves are responsible for the $14 million less a prorated portion of the Major League minimum salary if the Dbacks call him up. Don't know much about him though.

Bourn has had a fairly unremarkable MLB career, but had elite speed for a while. He's older now so not sure where he's at and the Blue Jays just released him so...

But good signing as he's worth a shot.

Dbacks score 4 in the top of the 6th. Was good execution to score the runs until Segura got thrown out attempting to steal 2nd to end the inning.

Ruby is doing great. 7 innings of shutout baseball. Tomas is hot as well. 3 for 3 with an intentional walk.

Ahmed is batting .168 and he already has 5 errors on the season. He can't be counted on for batting or fielding. Hopefully he's not in the lineup today.
