Not following baseball as religiously as I normally do due to our team being horrific this season, but I still keep track of Arizona box scores and watch games occasionally when I can... but David Peralta has been absolutely tearing it up since he's been brought up.

His line is .321/.355/.498 with 5 homers and 29 rbi, and 4 SB in just 56 games played. His defense has been incredible as well. He stole home two nights ago and tonight he hit a grand slam... brings tons of energy to a totally irrelevant team.

Not sure who else is in contention for NL ROY but Peralta has to be up there. He's a lot of fun to watch.

I think it's going to be hard to upset Billy Hamilton given the fact that the Reds are competing for a postseason spot and the DBags aren't. (Sorry, but after the fistbumps after a hit batter, your team is the Dbags IMO.)

Peralta's played very well so far, but the games played are a big issue IMO.

Jesse Hahn might have a better shot at catching Hamilton than Peralta. He has won 7 out of his 10 starts so far.

Going to be hard to catch Hamilton the way he has played in the field.

oh, no doubt, Hahn would have to win another 7 out of his next 10...to go 14-4 maybe and keep his era and whip right where they are at...almost unlikely.

Hamilton's OBP & OPS are terrible. And it is even more terrible when coming from a lead-off hitter. But he gets the benefit of playing CF & the whole season in the bigs. Peralta will likely be near 100 games played & 400 AB(s) when the season ends. It's going to be hard to ignore him just because Hamilton played more games & stole some bases.

I like Hahn & Peralta over Hamilton for RoY.

Not a single mention of deGrom? He was pitching very well until he got hurt.

Chris Owings is also having a pretty solid year for the D-Backs.

Owings has been out since late June & is a few weeks out from returning. But he was definitely playing as good as Hamilton at the time of his injury.
