The wall (40 t high BTW) takes as much as it gives and Fenway is considered neutral when it comes to hitting metrics.

Beside, Ortiz is a lefty and except for yanking one right down the RF line at Pesky's Pole you have to hit the ball pretty damn good to get one into the bullpens or over the wall in CF.

Not true....overall, it's still rated a hitters' park, but it's much more for righties than it is for lefties.

Meh at those park factors. Unless a club makes physical changes to the park's dimensions, park factors should not change from year to year.

The way these park factors are calculated, the numbers are heavily influenced by the hitters who are hitting in the parks. Boston has typically had excellent offenses, so that's going to skew the park factor towards hitter park.

Wind and weather are variables that will affect park factor calculations.
As well as pure randomness.

Well park factors can also be influenced by things such as weather/wind in addition to dimensions. Not sure how much it affects it, but if a team in a colder climate plays a large amount of home games in the early part of this season this year but played more road games early on last year, I'd think that would have some effect on the factors.

It makes sense why Fenway consistently rated a hitters park however just from a dimensions standpoint also....the park very much favors right-handed hitters, which tend to be the majority of plate appearances in any given year, and the park has the smallest foul territory of any ballpark in the majors.

Yeah, but its a neutral to slightly-hitter friendly park.
