He decided playing time was the most important thing.

The Clippers offered him the most guaranteed minutes.

I think the reduction in minutes with Indiana hurt his ego a bit....he wants to be a top minute player again.

I don't know about Miami, but the SPURS are only looking for a backup small forward to play behind Leonard. They could not guarantee anything other than bench contributor minutes.

Jamison is available

Jamison sucks at defense.

The Spurs don't need an offensive guy.
The Spurs (when fully healthy) are probably the most diverse offensive team in the league.
They don't excel at any offensive style over any other. That is their biggest asset.

The Spur's biggest need is defender depth at the swingman positions.
Defensive depth at the "2" and "3" is where they are thin.

Leonard is a great defender. But, he is the only true wing defender.
Ginobili and Diaw are decent defenders, but they are a little small or a little big respectively.
Neither is a perfect fit like Kawahi Leonard.

So, the depth is an issue.
It puts too much reliance on Leonard.

Surprisingly, METTA WORLD PEACE, is the exact player that SA needs (in theory).
I don't know if Popovich could control his antics, but his skillset is exactly what the Spurs need.

Danny Green is a complex defender to analyze
At times he can be elite..and at times can frustrate.

He is a great on the ball defender, transition defender, and pick and roll defender.
He might be one of the NBA's best in isolation type defensive situations.

But, off the ball...
he is completely befuddling by his lack of "off the ball defense". It drives us SPurs fans nuts.

So, the only true "Complete" wing defender is Kawahi Leonard.
Ginobili, Diaw, and Green are all decent defenders.
But none are exactly what Popovich wants.

Doc is great with vets. Clippers are now a destination for nba players. Never could have thought this. We should have asked for more picks for docs departure . Clippers were smart to get doc.
Doc may actually be too fond of vets.

Not using his bench enough and wearing out his regulars was a notable flaw of his late in his Celtics tenure.

Granger should be glad he's getting guaranteed minutes while Doc is getting to know him.
