Depends on the contract of course. Should have qualified my post. I'm gonna trust SM to make the right decisions on that front.

5-6 mill up front, no.. 5-6 mill average based on play and incentives?? I would still like to see it happen in that case.

5-6 mil a season no matter how its loaded in a contract is way too much for a guy with 2 career sacks in 40 games

anyone want to pay jarvis jenkins that amount because that is about the same production ?

i could swallow 2-4 mil but 5-6 ? no way

Keim:

Who makes sense: Williams. But it does not make sense if you want to spend more than $4 million for him. He’s not a three-down player and those are the guys who should get big money. However, with more teams playing the 3-4 now than the 4-3, there will be competition for him. While Williams has a good reputation – he’s considered a true nose tackle; no-nonsense guy and not vocal – he’s not a Pro Bowler. He’ll turn 28 in July, so he’s still in his prime. Signing him would give the Redskins someone to plug the middle and allow Baker to rotate between nose and end. You can’t run an effective 3-4 without solid nose tackle play.

Shelton is bigger, and cheaper and won't be past his prime when its time to re-sign like Williams will be.
Also Shelton has upside, and could possibly play much more snaps than Williams

I agree Skin'emAll. I am just reported the rumor. He was the best NT last year that is a FA. There is no way he is going to sign for 2-4 million. If that happens its a huge steal. I think he gets signed in day one or day two in FA.
