The Giants are trying something new. In the past, they always picked up guys several years removed from their prime to play shortstop; second base is uncharted territory.

Well, Einstein said something like "trying the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of insanity" So, at least they're trying.

The Giants will probably win the World Series this year. They win the WS one season, suck the next. It's a proven pattern.

Is that an Urban Dictionary thing? It's so hard to keep up with the lingo these days...

At least I haven't saw the word "ratchet" used on this site yet unless it was referring to a hand tool.

With that lineup they should be in the cellar. It's inconceivable that they have won so many games.

All three NL divisions have ties for the top spot. And the top two teams in each division are all within a half game of each other.

Hicks had a nice start, but he's batted .140/.253/.238 in 167 PA since the beginning of May. His line currently sits at .162/.280/.319.

Of course, Uggla does have a line of .162/.241/.231 (33 OPS+!) this year. And Uggla's never exactly been known for his defense. Uggla might be better than Hicks going forward, but I wouldn't exactly call Uggla an "upgrade."

I guess the Giants wanted more meat-heads in the line-up. I'm sure Uggla has a chip on his shoulder so this might work out ok for the Giants.

You're most likely right. And I guess MLB has a strong player's union.

I'll always be a diehard Braves fan, regardless of how many bad decisions the front office makes(signing the young guys to extensions this season is hopefully a sign of a lesson learned though).
