Don't see Pavelec enough to know... is he always that deep and reactionary, or was he just scared to death today?

I don't imagine he'd have much success in the NHL playing like that.

Probably a product of feeling like your team is overmatched. Doesn't trust his team to cover the passes, and playing deep helps to compensate.

Not supposed to be, but we put up 14 goals and let in 4 in the first three games.

Plus not as strong just means we aren't on the same level as Canada. We are still much deeper than the Czechs.

This team is a better team. Not an all star team.

I've been saying it since day 1: I really love the makeup of this team. A lot of people (mostly on twitter) disagreed, saying you bring your best, regardless. I think, to this point, it's showing how important creating a team is. Of course talent can still win, and it has, but this team is working really well together. It's something to watch. An advantage: these guys are willing and good at playing their roles. I love that JvR-Pavelski-Kessel line, and they're contributing. But another line that's been great is the Patches-Oshie-Statsny one. Cycling, hitting, grinding persay.
