Just no consistency with our offense or bullpen...The fact that we've continually gone to Champman in the 8th with runners on signifies that.

We may or may not get past the Dodgers, but I firmly believe whoever wins the A.L. is probably going to win it all, because this is the time of year weaknesses become exposed, and the Cubs certainly have that. Addison Russell has been awful, he's looking like a 22-year-old at the plate at this point.

I've said when Theo came aboard back in 2011 that 2017 would be our magic year and I'm sticking to it.

Now please be wrong and let us win it this year.;)

Rizzo has been a much bigger problem than Russell. I do still believe they get past the Dodgers, I also think they can beat the Indians... Don't give up yet...

If Salazar comes back that's just another guy we haven't seen.

You know what I was thinking last night while watching? If the Cubs get by the Dodgers and I think they will, Rizzo is very likely to have a monster WS. It seems to happen that way with a lot of star players in the playoffs. Goes the other way a lot too. Guys have a monster LCS and can't do a thing after the rest.

On a very real, please listen to me because I don't want to say it again, note. The Cubs are unbeaten in the playoffs when not facing guys not named Madison Bumgarner or Clayton Kershaw SO unless MadBum got traded to the Dodgers OR Kershaw is going to start games 4/6 AND 7 I think the Cubs will be fine.

I wanna see the Cubbies win it and I believe they should. That said, if you depend on Chapman for anything at anytime you are opening the door of disaster. If I were Maddon I wouldn't even let that bum dress let alone pitch.

Everyone just thinks they can slide by bc they dominated in the regular season, it's nice to see a realistic opinion. That being said, I don't want the Indians facing the Cubs in the WS if they get there. They have 4 quality starters and the offense can come alive at any point. I wouldn't be too worried about the Cubs unless they lose Game 3.

I think we will be fine for Game 3...Kershaw was just really good as expected and we couldn't get anything off him. Arrieta comes out in Game 3 and I hope to see Rizzo and Russell rebound.

You never know when that 1 player will get into that "zone" and win games by himself. Anyone at any time!

Cubs are still more than fine.

But there was also truth to the worries of "Can they hit good pitching in the playoffs". The lineup is very youthful and not very balanced.

The Mets shut them down last year and all the good pitchers they've faced this post season have as well. I think I could hit Samardja.

Lucky for them the Dodgers rotation outside of Kershaw isn't real scary. Just don't let them get Jansen the ball

They faced the best pitcher in baseball, one that could go down as one of the greatest pitchers of all-time. I wouldn't worry too much about one game.

Coming into the series, I think most saw game 2 as a win for LA. Why is everyone going crazy after the series is pretty much going according to Hoyle?

I am sticking with my pre-series call of Cubs in 5

Because they're Cubs fans? :noidea:

Still think Cubs win this in 6. Hard to see them sweeping 3 games in LA

You can add Rich Hill to the list of SP's that our offense was non-existent against this postseason. And Matt Moore. And Johnny Cueto.

So yeah, there's reason for skepticism about this offense, and I am definitely concerned.

The Cubs didn't make Hill or Kershaw work at all in these last two games. It's been literally a cakewalk for them...
