Depends on the severity of the strain. I strained my hamstring twice when I used to run track. It's a lot easier said than done. Also, Iggy's going to miss his 3rd consecutive game tonight - which is an elimination game. Sometimes asking a player to tough it out isn't exactly an option.

I think it's rarer for a team to be 100% this late in the season. Injuries are just apart of it. In 2009 Bynum was hurt against Dwight and the Magic in the Finals, in 2010 Kendrick Perkins was out for Game 7 of the Finals. You can go on down the list when you look at NBA history.

Iirc Bynum was available for 2009, but was out against the Celtics in 2008. But as you've said, injures are a part of the game.
