Cowboys cut Andre Gurode

The Cowboys have decided to part ways with Gurode after failing to come to an agreement on a new contract, ESPNDallas.com is reporting.

Although Gurode was a Pro Bowl center last season, the Cowboys were thought to be leaning toward Phil Costa as the starting center this year. Gurode’s 2011 salary of $5.5 million was too much to pay a player who might not even be a start

lol, i did say tempted.

As a C, Gurode is better than Synder. Even if Gurode loses his footwork out there, his build alone can make up for in blocking(IMO).

Gurode vs Goodwin? well, Goodwin was once a pro bowler on the SB team, but Gurode is a 5x pro bowler on a competitive team....

32 year old Gurode > anyone on our line at any age. Even if it's a very short term pick up, if it keeps our QBs and running backs off their back.

Iupati is the only one i have any confidence in right now, and he is still earning too.

I'm mpre concerned with the 2013 season than short term solutions when it comes to personnel. Gurode may not even be playing at that time.

Pete has been getting "big" players no matter what position on his team since he arrived... interesting take IMO. (not saying Gurode is signing, just pointing it out)

Gaither also says his back is 100% now. It will be real interesting and possibly very unsettling if Gaither and McKinnie lock up starting jobs and do well. While we put our faith in Staley and Davis. I'm also thinking Gurode is probably light years better than Goodwin. Man this is making me sick...

Staley & Co. need to start working on being some monsters(pun intended) themselves in the trenches... it should start vs SD, atleast this way, it will create/shift some confidence and momentum into wk 1's opener.
