Oh no, not another genre argument! When I say country I don't mean the pop music coming out of Nashville. Guys like Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Waylon Jennings would not be popular if they came onto the scene today. They'd probably fall into the Alt Country category, or at the very least, "Outlaw Country". Alt Country is a pretty broad label. Americana is really the exact same thing with a different name. A lot of the musicians that fall under that label could also be considered folk singers. Bluegrass is a sub-genre that could fall under country or americana. I threw southern rock in there because a lot of southern rock bands don't exclusively play rock music, but also play a lot of music that could fall into any of those other genres.
