I know this is a pipedream, but why can't Urbs and Kevin Wilson come together and play both JT and Haskins in the Cotton Bowl? Urbs has to come to grips that JT is not a passer. USC has a ton of film on JT. Not a ton on Haskins. Get creative here Urbs and make this your SB.

How long before USC figures out that JT = Run and Haskins = Pass?

The way Haskins throws with velocity it won't matter. He drills that ball on the receivers number. Also, Haskins can hand the ball off to our two studded tailbacks. I know JT is better at the hand off, but we also know JT likes to keep it himself. I trust Meyer. I know it's JT regardless so let's hope JT can finish this with a bang to his resume. I would love to give Haskins some reps and experience at this stage though.

Honest opinion.SC seems to play better against pocket passer than mobile QB's.While the secondary can be suspect.Their front 7 may be under rated. They are very quick and good at setting the edge. But the part most people didnt get to see.Is they collapse the pocket quietly led the nation sacks .And bat a lot of balls down at the LOS.I like Haskins but Barrett may be the best option.Tate and Winbush gave them the biggest fits this year because of their mobility

Some notes

I don't need to tell anybody this, but these are two teams of college football's royalty.

Both rank very high in nearly every measure of college football success, but notably
  • Heisman Winners (Ohio State #1 with 7, USC is in 3rd place with 6, but would be tied with Ohio State at 7 if Reggie Bush's had not been vacated),
  • NFL First Round Draft Picks (USC #1 with 80, Ohio State #2 with 77), and
  • Consensus All Americans (Ohio State #2 with 83, USC #3 with 81)
USC leads the all-time series 13-9-1, and is currently riding a 7 game win streak against the Buckeyes. The last time Ohio State beat USC was 42-21 in the 1974 Rose Bowl.

USC and Ohio State have met in the Rose Bowl 7 times (USC leads 4-3), but this is the first time they will be meeting in any other post-season bowl.

USC's biggest win against Ohio State was 42-3 in 1989. Ohio State's biggest win against USC was 33-0 in 1941. Two Rose Bowl games between the two have been decided by one point (USC 18 - Ohio State 17 in 1975, and USC 17 - Ohio State 16 in 1980)

The first matchup was won by USC 13-12 in 1937, and the most recent matchup was won by USC 18-15 in 2009.

Art Schlichter and OJ as sideline commentators.

Art might be in prison again. That muther fuker keeps stealing from people when he's not locked up.

Maybe so and my opinion won't matter because the one thing about Urban Meyer (not a bad thing) is he is loyal to his guy. Win or lose, it will be JT no matter what. As for a recruit, that is probably a positive thing to look at. I admit I have been tough on JT and some of it is fair and not. I just can't get over on how he misses open targets continuously and in big games, they tend to come back to bite us.

OSU 55 USC 45

After game — J.T. Barrett announces he is petitioning the NCAA to grant him a 37th year as OSU’s QB based on the CFP committee snubbing OSU.

I think Barrett will look a lot better after his knee heals. His running looked a bit off yesterday. That's his main threat. Not a lot of good read option plays where he keeps the ball.

I feel better playing this gamein Dallas vs USC's backyard in the Rose Bowl. We shall see which Buckeyes team shows up? USC hasn't faced a defensive line like ours and I'm curious to see how Darnold reacts under pressure?

vs. Top 25
USC 1-2
OSU 3-1

What scares me is the Trojans passing attack, 19th in the country. Besides Denzel Ward's man, Sam Darnold should have some good matchups. TE Tyler Petite has 22 receptions, not sure if he is a receiving threat but we've struggled against TE's.

2-2 USC beat #14 Stanford and #12 Stanford

Passing attack has improved its not just Burnett anymore.Pittman and Vaughns have stepped up.Petite is returning from injury. But their top TE Bebe has been back a few games. And Falo has looked great when he's gotten in.I like the duel threat running attack in Jones and Carr. What worries me is Oline depth. They were down to third string on the line this weekend.Darnold may be better under pressure mo.But I'll feel a lot more comfortable if they get some online bace.

The defense has been a pleasant surprise.Theres a possibility Gustin may be back which would be a great boost.
