Is now the best time to strike a deal if you've got Conner and someone else has Bell?

I was offered Edelman straight up in a 12 team PPR league for Conner by the Bell owner. I have plenty of RB depth and JE was picked 4 rounds earlier and should be a catch machine when he comes off suspension given the rest of the Pats WR options. Is this enough or should I press for more? Was thinking of heaving up Conner/C. Godwin for Edelman/Coleman or Conner/Rudolph for Kelce/Edelman just to gauge how desperate he might really be. Welcome any other thoughts.

My team
Goff
Gurley, Henry, Carson, Ja. Williams, A. Jones, Conner, Ivory
Hill, Diggs, M. Goodwin, M. Williams, C. Godwin
Rudolph

His team
Dak
Bell, Drake, Coleman, Mack, Wilkins
Green, M. Jones, Crabtree, Ridley, Sanu, Nelson, Edelman
Kelce

ask for Crabtree

Edelman hasn't played football in forever, and was using PEDs to get right
pretty sure Welker did the same thing before he disappeared off the fantasy map

I only have Bell in a ten man league. I wouldn't trade anything for Conner really.

Fair point, Edelman still looked pretty Edelman-ish in pre-season, though.

Who are you starting instead?
Barber or Jamaal Williams. Not sure yet.

I would start my 5th back Morris or my 6th back Kerryon Johnson before I'd trade anything of value.

So fair to say your options are significantly better than the Bell owner in my league, then.

In 12 man money league I had Conner late draft pick and the Bell owner wasn't interested in trade for Conner DUE to the fact that he is a Bell owner that believes this saga will end soon even if he misses week 1 that isn't forcing his hand... With that said, I would still try to get something for Conner like you are doing...

If I were him I would start Coleman or Wilkins and not think twice.

go Jamaal Williams - McCarthey is lame, if they get a lead they'll run it a bunch in the 2H

I think he's easily a top 20 RB during Jones' suspension in a high octane O

I like the Bears. But I did put Jamaal in just now.

Both guys should have mostly free reign of their respective backfields.

Having that offer out there may reel him in as the weeks pass (if Bell is out for more than a week).

Once Bell reports then Conner's trade value plummets. If you are comfortable moving him, then do so now while the holdout looms.

If it was me I'm holding him. Not gonna give up a potential RB1 in a high powered offense for Crabby..............unfortunately I did not land him in any leagues but I wish I did. Now, I can see the other side too, his trade value goes to shit if/when A) Bell comes back or B) He sucks shit logs against tBrowns this week.

Yes once Bell reports the only value Conners has is if a injury occurs. Bell could report at any time, like tomorrow. You could try for one of his better WR, but don’t reject his original offer. Connor has barely any value to your roster, he’s like RB6 for you unless Bell goes down. People giving advice usually aim to high for a return on a bit of luck.
Your fortunate that he has bad depth, but if I was the Bell owner I roll with Coleman if the cost becomes too high. At least for this week I would, then see what happens and decide. He could see what kind of offers he could get for Bell, instead of getting screwed trying to trade for Connor.

I prefer drafting a viable replacement like Jamaal Williams to cuffing, when possible. Backups who become starters rarely give you similar results. DeAngelo Williams success as a fill in was a exception IMO.
