for its 3-0 road sweep of the Big 12 this past weekend.

Arkansas St. won 35-21 at Kansas St. while holding the Wildcats to just 91 yards rushing. The Red Wolves amassed 489 yards of total offense & holding KSU to 374. ASU overcame 21-7 2nd quarter deficit by scoring 21 in a row to take a 7-point lead, then allowed the Wildcats to rally for a 31-28 advantage before scoring late to take the win. It was KSU's first loss in a home opener since 2013.

Coastal Carolina - in just their third season as a full-fledged FBS member - jumped out to a 28-3 lead over Kansas & held on for a 38-23 victory - their second in as many seasons as a guest of the Jayhawks. The Chanticleers racked up 5 sacks & 12 tackles for loss in the game. Kansas had 40 players sitting out for various reasons.

Louisiana-Lafayette trailed Iowa St. 14-10 at halftime before clamping down in the second half & emerging with a 31-14 victory. Big plays killed the Cyclones as they gave up a 95-yard kickoff return, an 83-yard punt return, and a 78-yard pass for touchdowns. The Ragin' Cajuns held ISU to its fewest passing yards in two years, limiting Brock Purdy to 145 yards & no TDs on 16 of 35 attempts, with one interception.

In games against other teams over the weekend, the Sun Belt was just 2-5, while the Big 12 was 4-0, with 3 of those wins coming over FCS teams.

Kansas underperforming? The last coach at Kansas had 6 wins in 4 seasons. The coach before that had 7 wins in 3 seasons. They haven't had a winning record in a season since 2008. Winning 3 games last year was a pretty big accomplishment at Kansas.
