Honestly I would still say Europe is the toughest region to qualify from (possibly second to Comebol at this moment). Every year there are Euro teams that would dominate low end Concacaf, CAF, or AFC teams. Ukraine and Sweeden come to mind this time around- but there are always a few.

Had a 4th team... Honduras. They may well have been the worst team at the WC.

I also agree with Sweden/Ukraine comment.

Europe still dominates in getting teams to the semi-finals.

2006 - all 4 teams
2002 - 2 of 4 teams
1998 - 3 of 4 teams

This year the Americas (North and South) are already assured of at least 1 team getting to semifinals. But I think they will get 2 and Europe will get 2 as well.

Agreed... feels like South American qualifying bracket with Brazil/Chile and Colombia/Uruguay all together.

Chile or Uruguay needed to win their groups to avoid it.
