Jackets are not getting any favors from the Hockey Gods. Two consecutive games against the two most complete teams in the East and they will be without Gaborik, Comeau and Calvert. Gabby has the flu, Comeaus got cut on his leg by a skate (not bad but bad enough to sit him a few games) and Calvert is gone for a while. He is having surgery later this week by the same guy who fixed Gabby's abdominal muscle.

Jackets have called up Collins.

Hoping they can recapture some of what they had last year when they went 4-0-1 against the Wings, but they are gonna have to dig deep to do it. Hoping for a good game.

If you're gonna miss your #1 guy, there are a lot worse options than Gus. Guy's very solid.

Jackets are taking care of the puck and going hard to the net. Gus is the difference. Been a good one so far.

The frustrating thing about playing the Wings is they never, ever panic. You can punch them and kick them and they just take it and wait for you to get tired.

Not much to be upset with the Jackets for here. A few ill advised hits (Not sure why Savard didn't get interference on the Alfie hit), but overall they are skating harder and making better decisions with the puck. They are just a step or two behind getting to the rebounds that Gus is starting to lay out there.

I agree with you the Jackets are playing well, just need to finish.

Wings coming off a big win in Boston they look a little pedestrian tonight. Starting to see some real attempts at playing hockey from Franzen, hopefully that will continue.

Jackets just couldn't get there to make him pay. He made some huge saves at the end.

That was about as well as you can play and not get the W. Nothing for the Jackets to hang their heads over.

Congrats, Wings fans. I can admire the team again now that we're not division rivals anymore.
