As if there was any need for further proof that Manning is not going to be a colt come 2012's NFL season. They are not going to clean out only to pay a broken QB 30million when that money can be better spent upgrading the OL, RB, and WR for luck, not to mention that defense.

I have a feeling Manning will either be a Jet, Brown or Viking next year.

I wouldn't rule out the dolphins, either.

Or according to some, instead of Palmer, maybe the 9ers will go after Manning to replace Smith.

They should drop 2 first rounds picks without thinking twice. Minimum. They really don't have any other holes on that team. They could use another WR which could be had in the 2nd round, but QB is hands down their weakest link. Peyton would probably guarantee a SB next year.

Cleveland offers up a 1st and a 2nd next year with opportunities to be another #1 (like we did with Palmer) and Manning may be able to be had.

Have to have the available cap space to sign Manning to his 5 year / $130 million with $40 million guaranteed, and not many teams will be going into the offseason with that much available scratch, Cleveland may be one of those teams.

They have the offensive line, they have a good RB, and they have a decent defense. If they could nail Manning down, one good WR FA, and nab another rookie WR in round 2 of the draft, they would be an instant threat if Manning is healthy.

I also agree, but if the Dr's give him a clean bill of health, then.....

One thing is for sure, the off-season is going to be very interesting around the NFL this year.

He's going to get paid a 20+ million dollar bonus to be an accessory QB coach. Andrew Luck is your backup, and your going on 40 years old. If a linebacker looks at you funny, you grab your leg and limp to the sideline. If they need your old ass that bad, they'll put you back in next week.

I could definitely see Cleveland getting Manning. They are more cursed than the Bengals. If they sign Peyton, guarantee Manning doesn't make it through next season. The last week of the pre-season he will find out his neck isn't getting any better and he will retire.

Also, nobody is going to trade for Peyton. They won't have to. If the Colts aren't keeping him, they will cut him before his roster bonus kicks in, which I think is March 1st.

Rightfully so...Caldwell is one of the most clueless coaches I've ever seen. he makes Marv look like Vince Lombardi.

The likely scenario is that date gets pushed back until sometime after FA starts.

He showed his ineptness in that SB against the Saints. Payton made him look silly.
