Has anybody been watching these College Football 150 shows? I’ve enjoyed every one of them.

Watching now on the 1950something u of San Francisco Dons team that went 9-0, got invited to the Orange Bowl but refused the invite because they were told their 2 black players couldn’t participate.

Also, I’m getting a Lou Holtz fix. That’s worth watching alone.
:lou:

If I missed a pre-existing thread on this, apologies.

Only saw the first one, but I look forward to watching the rest. Really did a great job with them as far as I’ve seen.

I guess they are on E-yes Pee-in?

Saw a show about the USF football team several years ago.

I ran across this team a while back when I was researching something else.

I remember absolutely nothing about them, even though I was watching CFB fairly regularly as a kid .

They did go (10-2) in 1972.

Kind of an FSU that never was.

I think you made that up.

LOL

Nope. I ran across them when I was looking at Kansas St.

I thought "Tampa? Who/What the fuck am I looking at?

They beat Mississippi St, Miami, Fl, Vandy, Rutgers.

That's your useless piece of trivia for today.

"John Matuszak was a defensive end for the Tampa Spartans and an All-American in 1972. He was selected first overall in the 1972 NFL draft by the Houston Oilers. He played 123 career games with Houston, Kansas City, and Oakland. As an actor, Matuszak antagonized opposite Ringo Starr in the comedy Caveman and played "Sloth" in the 1985 comedy The Goonies."

I remember Tampa fondly. They broke the MAC's 3-year unbeaten streak in the Tangerine Bowl; then a couple of years later they dropped their football program and moved the rest of their sports down to Division II.

I had seen the one replayed this morning...about what total douche Woody Hayes was.
