College Football Power Ratings - College FB Team Strength of Schedule Power Rating

Of the Top 15 SOS teams, all are either SEC or B12 - except USC at #14.
SEC has 8 of the Top 10, 10 of Top 15. The lowest SEC team is #38.
Lowest B12 comes in at #50.

The PAC has 4 in the Top 20, 9 in the Top 30.

No Surprise: The ACC does not appear until #22 Miami.
Clemson comes in @ #25, UNC #35.
Mighty FSU comes in @ #39. The rest fall from 42 to 75.

Biggest surprise: the no-show for the B10.
Highest ranked - #34 Nebraska
Followed by NW @ #41, MD @ #45 and M St @ #47.
Further down - Mich @ #54 and OSU @ #72.

Hmmm? Will this factor into the selection of the final 4?
I know right now, for 1 team it hasn't mattered - they are in everyone's top-4. FSU. :gaah:

I know an "unspoken" factor is Florida St. is the defending national champion. If they go 13-0, THEY ARE in the playoff. Just the way it is.

Somewhat agree with the 13-0 and they are in. But if Marshall is 13-0? It's not so much that FSU navigates this season's schedule undefeated since MANY teams could likely navigate that schedule undefeated. It still goes back to what they did last season, the FSU name recognition, etc. That was not supposed to matter anymore.... but bias and perception are impossible to eliminate as long as people are involved.

Florida State's schedule is somewhat better than Marshall's, but I do see your point. Out of Conference they play Oklahoma St., Florida, and Notre Dame, which is a wee bit better than a lot of schools out of conference scheduling. That at least shows an attempt to schedule strong. They play Miami and Louisville on the road... I honestly think one of those games gets these guys. The championship would likely be Duke... not too bad anyway. I think 13-0 deserves a Top 4 seed this season.

But the thing that eats at me is the SEC East teams being considered like Georgia. No.... I mean....HECK NO. The SEC West is loaded, I get it, but the SEC East is weaker than either PAC 12 division or the BIg 12 THIS SEASON. Look at the SEC East SOS's and you'll see.... it's no comparison.
