College: Bob Crable, Rocket, and Tom Gatewood

Pro: Bettis and Tim Brown.

I just heard that Brian Bosworth is being inducted. It would be a damn travesty if Crable is not. Crable was a far better college and especially pro player (although I don't judge college inductees by the quality of their pro careers). Rocket should also definitely get it.

It is an even bigger travesty that Tim Brown hasn't been inducted yet. I believe Bettis should be as well, but the much stronger case is for Brown.

Well, Gatewood made it. Congratulations! With Gatewood's induction, ND has 45 players in the college football hall of fame. The most of any Div. 1 school.

This HAS to be Brown's year.

I have a friend who is a diehard ND/Raiders fan and each year we talk about his odds of making the HOF. It's gotta be this year imo.

How can they justify Andre Reed last year but not Brown? I get there's probably a log jam at the position but his career numbers were better than Reed's and you can't use Super Bowl wins, neither have them. Plus Reed had Jim Kelly throwing to him and defenses had to account forThurman Thomas. Look at who Tim Brown had throwing to him over his career.

Congratulations to Jerome Bettis and Tim Brown on being inducted into the pro football hall of fame. We're now tied with USC with the most players in the pro hall of fame. :yahoo:

lot of people on espn.com were saying that Bettis doesn't deserve to be in the hall. Their argument was that he was good but just wasn't great. Are you kidding me? He was great for the type of runner he was and it was hard to believe he played as long as he did with the beating he took. Yes, maybe not Barry Sanders type of running back but he put up good numbers without having good players in the other skilled positions majority of his career.

Nobody is complaining about Tim Brown. Dude played for awful Raiders teams and still put up outstanding numbers.

I have a question though. Who is the next ND hall of Famer?

Dunno but I'm guessing it will be a while before another one gets in. Don't know if Tuck will finish with Hall numbers. God willing, Zach Martin.

Brady Quinn??

Good one Micro! How about Bryant Young? Was on the All-90's Team. Not sure where he is stats-wise but a worthy candidate in my opinion.

Possibly. He's 43rd all time in sacks and was a huge piece of SF's D in the 90's. Did he do enough to cement himself a spot? I dunno but that's a good call.

(So you're saying Quinn won't get in?)

No, Lloyd Christmas, I'm saying there's a chance.
