thats what we did with Shields last year but Cobb at 9+ million is crazy. I love Cobb but we cant continue to invest that heavily in offense if we want to improve the defense.

Packers to let Randall Cobb test market, focused on signing Bryan Bulaga and Letroy Guion, per report - Acme Packing Company

Jason La Canfora is reporting that we are letting Cobb test the market and focused on resigned Bulaga and Guion. If Cobb hits the market he will get signed ASAP by Jax, Oak, Cleveland or NYJ. Im hoping this is the same with Shield from last year that we swoop in at the last minute and resign him but I ant fathom paying a predominately slot WR 9+ mill per year.

Hell the Bears will try to sign him as well

Yeah, with Aaron Rodgers all you need is a patch worK offense line and a few nobody recievers and your offense will be fine

Victor Cruz made 8 mil last year I believe as the top paid slot wr. I could easily see Cobb being worth 9+

I hope they get this done with Cobb before FA starts. Not just for the Packer's sake but for Cobb's also. Jones and Jennings left and played with average or below average QBs and their production has tailed off. I think this would be best for both the team and Cobb if they get this done, and I believe they will.

The Packers reportedly informed free agent Randall Cobb's camp that they are willing to sign him to a five-year deal worth $8-9 million annually.
Agent Jimmy Sexton "basically has told the team he's confident more lucrative offers await." Venerable Packers beat writer Bob McGinn confirms the Jaguars are "expected to be all over Cobb," while the Raiders are "also ready to enter the Cobb sweepstakes." Concludes McGinn, "barring the unexpected ... it appears as if Cobb will be playing elsewhere next season

One could argue that playing along side Nelson, made Cobb better and visa versa.

I don't think Adams is quite ready to fill that x factor role but if T squared has proven anything during his tenure, it is the fact that he can get damn good WR's in the later drafts.

Still would hate to see Cobb go.

I want to bring Cobb back but not for 9+ million. Thats insane.

I love the chemistry between Rodgers and Cobb but we can get 60% of his production for 10% of his price. If Cobb wants to play with a HOF QB he will take the 8-9 million per year that the Packers are offering. If not he can play on Oakland or Jacksonville. If I were him I would first look to Indy or Philly if I didnt want to play in GB.

If he goes to either of those 2 teams he's going to be disappointed in the QBs he plays with. He will get $3million per year more, so I can't blame him if that's what the market will pay...

With the McCoy trade, Philly has lots of cap room. I seem to recall that Kelly likes taller and bigger WRs. Whatever...it'll play out and the chips will fall and all will move on...would still like to see him back in green and gold

Adams and Cobb serve vastly different roles. Abbredaris would likely be the one to take on Cobb's role given his stature.

I'm not saying Adams can or will take Cobb's place. I'm just saying that he's going to be a damn good receiver in this league and I'm glad TT drafted him. I'm not a fan of Abbredaris, I don't think he's physically capable to play WR in the NFL, I'm thinking more janis or another draft pick or maybe a free agent

Looks like Cobb will be gone because they don't want to offer $10+ a year. Will be interesting who can fill in for him.
