After 2 1/2 years of watching Iowa lose close game after close game I have come to the conclusion that Ferentz doesnt trust his players or his staff. Everytime Iowa has a chance to go for the W in a tied game Ferentz has played for overtime. What kind of message is this sending your team and staff? Its telling them that you dont have enough faith in them to try and win the game, its telling them you think it more likely they will make a mistake than a big paly and its telling them that you dont think theya re good enough to come thru in the clutch. James Vandenberg hasnt thrown a pick in his last 3 games played yet you dont even give him a shot to make a play to win the game??? Stupid. You are playing not to lose instead of playing to win EVERY time. Until this is rectified Iowa will NEVER have a truly special season. If you dont trust your players then you need to put someone out there that you do trust. If you dont trust your staff to make the right calls then you need to get rid of them and put people in place you do trust.
