Game Thread: Citrus Bowl vs Kentucky Jan 1, 2019

Since it is official, time to open a Citrus Bowl thread. I think its a game we should win, already opened a touchdown favorite. Not the most exciting potential opponent, but should get us to 10 wins and a top 10 finish for 3rd consecutive year....haven't done that since 80-82.

Indeed. We know we'll need our full cast out there if we're going to win. Our defense is legit. I know yall see Kentucky and think meh. Our offense is pretty run oriented, not sure how much Stoops is going to run Snell with the draft, but Benny wants the ball every snap so we'll see. TE CJ Conrad and WR Lynn Bowden are our two other big weapons, but theyre only effective if good Terry Wilson shows up at QB. Bad Terry Wilson gets us the miserable offense we saw in that clunker we had at Tennessee.

yeah, as far as Snell, they may play him, but not as much as usual. Franklin did that with Saquon in bowl last year. I think we recruited Lynn Bowden at some point, his name is very familiar. Biggest thing for PSU is Trace getting a month to heal. He hasn't been healthy since about week 7.

I was wondering about that. Also makes me wonder if hes going to go all out or what. Another storyline here in Lexington is from Franklin's time at Vandy. Obviously one of our historical rivals. Stoops' first year when we were completely gutted and went 2-10 Franklin ran the score up on us and didnt take a knee at the end when it was well in hand. Franklin and Bobby Petrino are the only two coaches weve seen Stoops make public comments, albeit professional, in a negative manner about another coach. Long story short they dont like each other. What, if any role that will play, is anyone's guess. Lets be honest, we're UK on the Citrus Bowl. We don't really need extra motivation to want to win.

Lynn Bowden is from Ohio. Had plenty of B1G offers/looks including yall and OSU. Chose UK and we're damn glad to have him. There's no secret to this game, we can hang defensively with your offense. If Terry Wilson is confident and shows out he can move on your defense. If head case Terry shows up woth zero confidence and makes shit reads, then y'all should win.

Im expecting a grind it out game. Something along the lines of 21-17 either way. Just hope both rosters stay injury free.
