Murray beat an exhausted looking Fish in the first semi today. The second semi, which is happening now, is seeing a big hitting Berdych up a break over one-loss Djokovic. Berdych is htiing 80 MPH forehands (on average), and Djokovic looks like he might be resigned to a loss. He'll try to win, but I doubt he'll go 110% to get it. Should be an interesting rest of the match.

Berdych was serving for the set when he had a classic case of the nerves. He had called for the trainer earlier, and after he got broken, it was clear his shoulder hurt. His normal first serve is 130 MPH, but he was only hitting about 105. After he dropped the set, he promptly retired.

This gives us the incredibly dull final match of Djokovic vs. Murray. Expect Novak to roll to the title, as even in victory, Murray hasn't looked very good this week.

Novak is simply exhausted.

Yeah, Novak played terrible today, having 8 winners to 31 unforced errors. He was clearly out of gas, which isn't that surprising considering Djokovic normally plays a really light schedule.

This was a solid result for Murray, who looked lost in Montreal. He has always played his best at the US Open, annd I wouldn't be surprised to see him make a deep run. We'll see if he can get going after a rough middle of 2011.

Sharapova d. Jankovic in 3 sets. A little bad blood between them. Jankovic complained about Sharapova having her back to her when Jelena wanted to serve. You're supposed to play to the server's pace. The ump said Jelena does have to give Maria some time to get ready, though.
