Marlon Tuipulotu & Ale Kaho ... USC and Bama showed what real sleaze is with those two kids. Petersen has a legit gripe.

Not all coaches and their staff are sleaze bags. There's a reason Tosh Lupoi is at Bama.

He may want for verbals to mean more than they do, but they don't mean a whole lot and there's no chance that changes. Kids have a right to change their minds and make these decisions as late as they want to and shouldn't SIGN before they are sure. Up to the point you can't expect coaches to not keep on contact. He's not doing us any favors backing off kids when literally no one else in the country does that. It's time he learned how to major power 5 and stop living in his G5 dream universe.

The situation with Turner is more complicated than what people are trying to make this out to be. UW wants to bring him in as a safety, and ND wants to turn him into an OLB. While Turner has said he wants to be a safety, scouts see him more in the LB mold when it comes time to look to the NFL. Of course there are quite a few safeties in the NFL that were told they weren't the right size/skill set and are doing fine.

He's got decisions to make beyond which coaches or other players he is drawn to.

Kid is projecting as a Rover LB at ND.

That is a pretty awesome spot in this defense. Plays as a hybrid LB - DB, and really takes over that MLB spot in passing downs. And in today's defenses that is where you build your defense from. The front 4 get all the talk, and the DBacks get to talk about their skills on 'the islands'. But the LB group is the core of everything.

Until a kid signs, he isn't a recruit. And ND has lost plenty both before and after the ink is on the paper. It happens. Peterson is pissed that college football isn't catering to him, and that his guys can't get the job done. That happens when you are trying to get 18 year olds to do what you want.

Sure. He might do great things no matter which way he goes. Of course I'd rather he stays, but if he's feeling it more the other way then so be it.

Petersen has to just find a way to deal with this. It's part of the game at this level. The higher the level of kid you are in play for, the worse this shit gets and the more cutthroat it's going to be.

This is what I don’t get about all of his bitching. When a kid is a verbal to another school he doesn’t back off and flips kids. Maybe he should just try to get a coalition together to get the NCAA to allow a kid to sign a LOI any time a scholarship is offered.
