It happened in the 50's with Bama. A Bama player came off the bench and tackled a Rice Football player. Rice was awarded the Touchdown.
Tommy Lewis said he just had too much Bama in him.

Lets run a hypothetical play and tell me what you think the outcome of the call would be.
For sake of argument lets say we have Colorado State vs Florida Atlantic playing.
4th quarter with 8 seconds left...
current score is FAU 28, CSU 24.
FAU has the ball on CSU's 40 yard line...it is 3rd and 25..
In attempts to get the first down FAU decides to pass the ball only to get intercepted...
CSU is returning the ball, and looks to be a clear cut pick 6..has an FAU player approximately 5 yards behind him...Suddenly an FAU player from the sidelines comes running out onto the field and tackles the CSU player who looks like he may score a game winning TD...
What is the call, how do the refs fix this?
Look for OD to start tackling players at the end of gamesBefore I answer, this isn't a "plan" is it?
Since it was a scoring opportunity give the player who came on the field a red card and allow a (untimed) penalty shot from the 1 yard line. If penalty shot fails, resume play at the spot of the foul ( plus 15 yards since it was a personal ) and reset the clock to the time of the foul. Issue resolved.
