With boston making the big moves of getting hanley and panda, Does that mean their not in on Lester and that they are open to trading Cespedes even more now?

Nah, not for 20+ million for 5 or 6 years.

I'd probably only want Cespedes if there aren't any options left.

Speaking of dealing Kuma straight up for a hitter, what about to the Rockies for Morneau? Do the Rockies do it?

Morneau??/ yuk, no thanks. Injury riddled now, and his numbers were heavily coors field influenced.

Agree on Cespedes. Wouldn't want to tie up $100 million on that guy.

But I wouldn't trade Kuma for Morneau either. Just don't trust morneau. His numbers weren't all Coors effect last year. He hit well on the road too. But, I just don't have faith in that guy.

oh come on! Even in 2013 when Morneau played in MIN+PIT he had better numbers than Cespedes has had for the past two seasons! Morneau has Gold Glove defense while Cespedes has a strong arm but other than that it's pretty bad. He's also considered a good guy in the locker room unlike Cespedes.

But Kuma's status is pretty untrustworthy at the moment aswell with similar contracts and basically the same age.

To me we need some bats so the M's could be better off with Morneau over Kuma.

I made the same assumption until i looked up his splits. His SLG and OPS splits weren't off that much. The noticeavble dropoff was in RBI, but you have to expect that because he had twice as many RBI opportunities at home as he did on the road.

I like Morneau, but Kuma is an overpay. Ramirez for him okay, but Kuma is worth more imo.

I'd only be open to trading Kuma if we have another option (Lester) in the works. Lester is from the area, although I'm not sure the Mariners want to spend a lot of money on another pitcher.

Lester is from the area, but just bought a house near the new Atlanta Stadium so it doesn't sound like he wants to come back to WA any time soon. Too bad because he would be a great fit.
