Casey Pachall Cleared for Texas Game

TCU quarterback Casey Pachall will be available Saturday to play against Texas, coach Gary Patterson told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Pachall has been out since Sept. 7 after breaking his non-throwing arm in the Horned Frogs' second game of the season. Pachall has been out of a cast for a month and has been working as TCU's scout-team quarterback.

Since Pachall's injury, the TCU offense has become one of the most ineffective in college football. Behind quarterback Trevone Boykin, who has started since Pachall's injury, the Horned Frogs rank 111th in the nation in total offense.

They have also been shut out in the first half in three of their four Big 12 games, which has resulted in a 1-3 start in the league.

Texas coach Mack Brown said this week that the Longhorns were preparing for both quarterbacks in case Pachall was cleared to play.

"Because they're different, it makes it more difficult to prepare," Brown said. "It is more difficult for the unknown."

I took them but I don't feel good about it. I just can't trust Texas anymore. They've burned me too many times lately when they play a team with good defense. Oklahoma was the first good defense I can remember Texas moving the ball well on in a long time.

I took Texas and Oklahoma. Oklahoma was my toughest game to pick. I think Tech can win it, Blake Bell is not very good.

My strategy on Texas winning is that the kids at Texas beat the kids at TCU when they were in high school. I win either way on this game.

I'm just hoping the Texas from the RRSO shows up in Ft Worth. If so, then they win.

If not, they lose. Not sure if a rusty Pachall will help that much if the good Texas team shows up.

The guy for the Frogs who I think scares me the most is number 47. Not sure of his name, but he's the stud linebacker, kind of like the good linebacker for OU who was injured and didn't play in the RRSO.
