I believe it was a torn Achilles. Same thing that was his issue here in Cincinnati. He was very injury prone, could never stay on the field. I feel for him, but I think this is the real reason staff let him go. Couldn't depend on him to stay healthy.

He also had injury issues at Auburn.

It's a tough break and I feel bad for Jets fans. I like Lawson - He did everything right while he was here and was very professional about his FA status on his way out. He obviously wasn't from the Bengals tradition of D-line that like to be lazy at times..... He looked like he lived in the weight room. And by all accounts, he was tearing up the Jets camp.

This is the issue with FA - If you hope a high-price ticket is going to help you in year one, you better brace yourself for injuries. We saw it with Waynes last year.

Isn't that usually what happens to the Bengals? They sign a big ticket free agent and gets hurt in camp/preseason?

Maybe things are turning around. Then again, it is the Jets, and they are just as inept as the Bengals.
