*rounded up

*Career OBP - .482%, Ted Williams
*Career BA - .363, TY Cobb
Career K's (batting) - 2,597, Reggie Jackson (closest active is Chris Davis at 1,835, tho this could fall sooner than later these days)
Stolen Bases - 1,406, Rickey. 2nd closest is 478 behind. Rajai Davis leads active players with 415, or roughly 1,000 behind Rickey.
Runs scored - 2,295, Rickey again.
Hits - 4,256, Pete Rose. Yeah, this is going nowhere.
Total Bases - 6,856, Hank Aaron. Pujols is 5th at 5,863.
Doubles - Tris Speaker, 792.
Triples - 309, Sam Crawford - Dexter Fowler, active, is 262nd all time with 82.
Home Runs - 762, Barry Roids.
RBI - 2,297 - Hank Aaron. Pujols is tied for 4th with 2,075
Walks - 2,258, Barry Roids. This is going the way of the dodo. Pujols is the active leader with 1,322.
Singles - 3,215, Pete Rose. 75% of Roses hits were singles. Amazing. Derek Jeter tried REALLY hard with 2.595. 65% of his career hits were singles. Slappy McSingles will always be known as such.

I stopped here because I have shit to do. Feel free to add.

Two grand slams in one inning might be tied one day, but will never be broken

Cut Young’s career complete games is the most unbreakable record in sports.

Greg Maddux pitched over 20 seasons and never got hurt, and act Young has more career complete games than Greg Maddux does starts.

Take away all of (Legit HR champ) Hank Aaron's HRs and he still had 3000 hits. That always blows my mind.

The one that surprises me most is the Career K's record. I guess the Adam Dunns and Ryan Howards of the world get to the point where they are no longer useful before they have a chance to break the record. Mark Reynolds is another one but he just retired this year.

No one's ever getting anywhere near Sam Crawford's 309 career triples.

ted williams getting on base nearly 50% of the time is mind boggling to me.

Also, Rickey's 335 career caught stealings is a safe record.

Pujols' 395+ GIDP might be pretty safe, too.

If Pujs hits the ball on the ground and there’s a runner on first, it’s pretty much a lock for a DP. Last time the Brave played the Angels, and hit a slow chopper to the 6-5 hole, Dansby ranges to get the ball, and Pujols was out by a mile at first after a bang bang play at second. With no runners on, that’s an infield hit for a lot of players

As of right now, Jose Abreu looks like the only potential threat to Pujols. Everyone else isn't hitting into them at the rate Pujols did. And even Abreu is 2.5/season less (20.8 / season for Albert, 18.3 / season for Jose).

Jose got a late start to his career age wise too, I doubt he’d play long enough even if he were outpacing him

I saw fat-ass Miggy was second on the active list, but he's like 80 GIDP behind Albert. No way Cabrera plays 5 more seasons than Pujols.

with DH, I can see Pete rose's numbers being beat SOMEDAY...

He only has the most hits because he also has the most at bats... He only had a career .303 BA(of course that is amazing with 24 seasons on his belt)…

I never noticed Pujols hitting into that many double plays. Has he always been incredibly slow or is it the shift? Or maybe a combination of the two plus the fact that he doesn't strike out that much

I don't think it's the shift, per se. He was hitting into them before shifts were all the rage. I think being a pull hitter plus being right-handed plays into it, and being slow as fuck helps a ton too.

Add in that he puts the ball in play a lot, and you get a lot of chances to GIDP.

56 game hitting streak by DiMaggio. Seems like seldom players can get in the 30's and that's it.

Yep. Some people cite the career wins record but I can at least see how someone could catch that one even without a drastic rule change. Only way that the complete games record falls is if they cut back to 3 inning games for some crazy reason.

Yeah I guess the reason it didn't stand out to me when he was on the Cardinals is because when he wasn't hitting into double plays he was so good.
