Cards promote LB coach to DC

LB coach James Bettcher has been named the Cards new DC. What do you guys think. I for one am hopeful he got a lot of production out of the LB corps the last two seasons. This also means the scheme will stray pretty much the same as the one that has worked so well the laser two seasons.

I like the promotion/hire. I am glad they kept the DC in-house. I am of a firm believer that young coaches should get the chance to prove themselves over hiring coaching retreads. Promoting Bettcher means that the basic alignment & system will remain in place. The only question is if he can adapt & call plays like Bowles.

I am a fire of the hire. I don't like that he has next to no experience compared to many other coaches in the league. There will inevitably be growing pains. Overall, the scheme shouldn't change much since he understudied for Bowles and beau.

I don't know much about the guy. Pros and cons to this kind of hire usually. We should know early on whether this was a smart hire. The good thing about hiring in-house is that with the same basic system, there shouldn't be 8 weeks of growing pains with players trying to adapt to something brand new.
