For who? Hicks and Baker can't hit AAA pitching. Montero hasn't caught for almost two years now so not sure why you think that's an option.

The mistake was the catching debacle in 2013 which caused zunino to be called up to early. May have permanently damaged some of his habits.

M's are rumored to be 1 of 5 teams that the Marlins talked to about Salty. He was waived meaning they have 10 days to trade him. I read one players quote who said pitchers really hate pitching to Salty (as a catcher).

I think this would not be a good. I could totally see the Mariners bringing him in with the intentions of playing first base. Does anyone know if he has any time at first?

Zunino's game calling/pitch framing/defense are good enough compared to any replacement to make up for his terrible at bats right now.

If you're going to harp on a hitter, call out the ones who aren't as impactful on a game to game basis as Z is like Jackson, Miller, and Morrison. If those guys are putting together quality at bats and hitting .250 as a whole, letting Z rot in the 9 hole while catching a great game is not a very big deal.

yeah it would be a mistake to get rid of him..... But how about a change in approach,,,, quit trying to hit home runs. How about a nice easy base hit swing, get a few of those to get your confidence up then turn back up the power. or hell maybe seeing the ball get put in play in all your ab's would be the confidence boost you need lol

Ackley and Smoak got a ton of rope, too much in my opinion. But with the way Zunino handles the pitching staff there's no way they demote him.
He'll get all the time he needs while they work with him and hope he becomes a hitter eventually. Hopefully that happens soon.

This past off season was suppose to be the change in the approach time. It made him worse and I didn't think that was even possible.

Exactly. Pitchers are not even wasting off speed stuff low and away anymore on him. They are just serving up fastballs and daring him to hit it. Good catcher, but wow with the bat.
