The Patriots have added a couple of players to their 90-man roster with training camp underway in Foxborough.

The team announced that they have signed wide receiver Tony Washington and defensive end Caleb Kidder. They had open roster spots so did not need to make any corresponding moves to create space for the new arrivals.

Yeah it was sarcasm.

My bad...never know on these boards who is being sarcastic and serious. Didn't he start the last 2 or 3 years on the PUP?

I think he did and I agree sarcasm does not translate well in text.

Sarcasm is best done in the accepted color, green.
Example: This is the Browns year, all the way to the Super Bowl!

I guess Jimmy G threw two picks in a row today.

15,000 Fans at Opening Day of Camp. Kraft allowed the overflow to walk up the stadium ramp and watch.

Saw the stats earlier today....no yardage, just completions. Brady was 6 for 8 as was Garapollo, Brissett was 7 for 8. All these in 11 on 11 and 7 on 7 sets.

Defensive backs were crackerjack. Rowe, Butler and J. Jones all knocked away passes. JG had two picks and Brady had one.

Ninkovich was not on the field.

Studs and Duds

STUDS
Malcolm Butler was showing he's a leader and was seen instructing some of the younger guys.
Brandin Cooks............snagged a 40 yard pass over Duron Harmon. Incredible catch.
Julian Edelman. Literally undressed Cyrus.

DUDs
JG......Two INTs, very bad rollouts. Not a good practice player by reputation but was not impressive today.

Best play: While this wasn't a particularly fast-paced practice with the highest level of competitive sessions within it, receiver Brandin Cooks showed his ability to get open in the deep part of the field by hauling in a high-arcing long bomb from quarterback Tom Brady for a would-be touchdown in 11-on-11 drills. Cornerback Cyrus Jones was in coverage, with safety Duron Harmon the closest player to help. The play came along the left sideline, and after Brady and Cooks hadn't been able to connect on a few throws earlier in practice, this one sparked a loud cheer from the crowd of 15,000-plus.

Was reading that Jacoby B was looking much better in 7on7's with his reads and decisions.

Hard to get up for this with it being day 1 and everyone shaking off the rust. I look forward to the joint practices. The one vs Jax will be pretty interesting. However, this will benefit both the WR and CB going against each other all the time. Two very good groups who will only make each other better.

Something to consider, what I read was Jimmy G started hot but both INTs were in the end zone. This may mean nothing at all at this time, but it's worth noting that when the field shrinks and the coverage tightens up that may be an issue for him. Worth keeping an eye on.
