The wife said we're going to make the 2 hour trip to Blacksburg after church in the morning for father's day. Figured we'd take my 6 month old around the campus taking some good pictures for the office at the new job. Then going to drop by the vintage cellar to pick up some beer that I can't find around here and finally off to bull and bones. She figured that there really isn't any better gift for me than ribs and beer. I'll bring a growler or two and take some back with me. Maybe if the boy sleeps on the way up or back, I might convince mommy for a special 'gift'.

Anyone else have some decent plans tomorrow for father's day?

You're going to make a play for road head with your infant son in the backseat? :dhd:

Hell, you look for any opportunity at this point. Seriously doubt that I'll be successful in my endeavor, but you've got to give it a shot.

If there are any bottles of Windham Winery reds there let me know and maybe buy one. That's our old label and those years will be fantastic right now. :thumb:

Will do. I haven't been there since I was in school, so it'll really be a trip down memory lane and something different than what I can get at Kroger.

Bull&Bones is always a good decision. You got reservations though? Might be tough getting in on Fathers Day

Just checked with the wife and she didn't think about that. Since we don't know when we'll be up there and can't really plan with an infant, we'll try our luck and if they're too busy then we can go elsewhere. That is of course after getting the growler filled. I can be flexible, plus it might help my chances with the other thing, haha.

No need for reservations. Just got here and there's only about ten tables occupied. Going to eat, then walk around campus, then back to fill the growlers and stop be the vintage cellar. Y'all have a good fathers day.

Well there wasn't any success with the special gift but I had a blast anyway. Full rack of ribs, sweet potato fries, and a full growler of the seasonal. Then stopped by the vintage cellar and made a 6 pack variety since I have such poor choices around here (hence why I started home brewing). Finally walked around the drill field for a while and took some pics of the little/big guy. All in all, a good day.
