Garrett did lead the league in theoretical sacks. So congrats to him.

I guess everyone just feels bad for the Browns... so they get a participation trophy of sorts.

Garrett must have had an amazing first 2/3 of the season, considering he completely disappeared for the last 1/3 and the playoffs.

But really, he won this award in the pre-season. It was his turn. Next year is Parsons turn.

Yup. From the start he was the media darling.

Wow, TJ Watt was robbed. He had a better year than Garrett and is a better player.

Already made my peace over this back in October during the NFL's Garrett campaign. The agenda was abundantly clear every single week... Plorsting Garrett's face with DPOY everywhere. All the while ignoring Watt leading the league in every meaningful defensive statistic.

Honestly more surprised Crosby didn't get any votes.

This stat headline had me cracking up... When you have to say "top-10" because he trails several people in every single one of these stats except FF

Watt beat him in every category. And didnt garrett close the year with like 1 sack the last 7 games?

Probably because the Browns lost their entire offense so everyone is like, "OMGOMG they still made the playoffs! It's because of Garrett!" Which yah, he's a huge part of that team... but it seems like a sympathy award.

Assuming both could guarantee health... everyone with a functioning brain would take TJ Watt over Myles Garrett.. The NFL is retarded. Somehow Will Anderson snuck in for DROY when yah he was good, but hardly the best defensive rookie. And that's because jersey sales are about to explode for Houston. 5 of Anderson's 7 sacks came against Denver, Arizona, and Tennessee... real impact offenses there...

Anyone can cherry pick stats. Garretts' and Parsons' pressure rate was much higher, it wasn't close. Watt had WAY more snaps. He also was very good at sacking the QB while unblocked. Apparently that is a stat too. So the Steeler defense was on the field more bc their offense was so bad. Congrats!

Garrett had the much higher win rate, pressure rate and double team rate.

Higher pressure rate but lower sacks just means they had trouble closing the deal.

Watt did things other than rush, and still led the league in sacks, again.

Steelers are 1-11 without Watt. Speaks highly of how valuable he is.
