Haven't been keeping up with where we stand on our cap, is there any room for new guys? If we are cutting our FB, things must be crazy tight.

I think we still have that cap hit penalty this season which is total BS. But yes, any new blood on the o-line would be welcomed. Can't be much worse than what we have.

I'm pretty sure we have enough room to sign one of them, I'd prefer Moore. They may be saving the money to try and rework Lee. Nets will know their cap status

As stands we don't have the room too.......

We DO HAVE right around 5.5 million left .. little more little less... less than a million off on that number though.
As we saw last year though. You can't spend down to the last dime. Just last year as an example because of all the injuries. we spent almost 10 million in guys off the street during the season.

In a perfect healthy world... We still can't spend it.
Under the new CBA. You can carry money over from one year to another. 5 million left this year give you 5 million more next year. And I think their main focus right now is on securing Dez.
If we were one player away ... maybe..... but switching schemes off an 8-8 season. Safeties are a total question mark. It wont happen.

That's true about not spending every cent, but I wonder if Dallas could sign Moore to a 2 or 3 year deal with a cap number of around $2 million this year by giving a little more of a signing bonus. Moore would be a huge upgrade and could make the difference in one game, which is all this team may need. I had hoped that cutting Vickers left us a little more money, but $5 million is just past emergency funds

I think if we were gonna make a play for a lineman it would have happened before training camp starts. Think we have, who we are gonna have (as far as veterans) on the line.

thing about going after Hillis, is it could be at the expense one of the back up RBs. Think getting rid of Vickers was because we needed a blocking(4th) TE (who we could use at FB) in Rosario, but the team isn't getting rid of Hanna or the rookie. So to me picking up Hillis means we cut a RB. So Hillis wouldn't just be a FB but a back up HB.

I wouldn't mind having Hillis. Would give us some options. but it would be at the expense of a cheaper younger guy, so not to sure the boys would do it (without an injury)

Garrett is coaching to save his job .....

One player you can grab for THIS year at around 1 million ... that can fill all those roles..... it's on the table I'm sure.

Future of the Cowboys is in the youth.... Future of Garrett is a cheap player that can full alot of holes

I would love to see the Cowboys sign Vonta Leach. They would have to be creative to get Moore and Leach, but if they did, their Offense would be Super Bowl worthy IMO

I like your thinking here. He could be a versatile guy to come in on the goal line. Tanner did not progress from the year before. I kind of like Dunbar as a shifty runner. I still hope Kendial Lawrence is gets a spot before tanner does. The defense would have to account for his speed. It could really open up the big play in the slot.
