Got the batting part down. Can they help him out with his fielding a bit?

Nice to see. His career has been full of hot and cold streaks. Right now he is definitely on a hot streak.

At some point you gotta ask yourself when are some or any of the young guys going to get it figured out and break out and stay out.

Not a fan of Miller defensively at SS but if he can keep the bat where it is then he needs to be in the lineup. I love the idea of him being able to play the OF, although he doesn't have much experience out there. It makes one of our crappy outfielders expendable.

Miller's actually put together a very nice last 300 AB's or so.

It's inching closer to being a significant sample size for projection, IMO.

Maybe the switch to super utility actually helped relieve the stress of being the every day Short?

Now if only we could do something about the human rally killers Knino and Ack attack.

I just took a look at his game logs for this season and he actually has been fairly consistent at the plate. I was a little surprised to see that. Even dating back to September of last season he was hitting well.

Last season he had a bad April, a bad May, hit well in June but July and August were not great. So I think you are right dating back to last season we are seeing a pretty good consecutive 2-3 month stretch from him at the plate.

He's making them find a spot for him. When Jackson is able to come back who goes? Weeks? Ackley? Ruggiano? Send Taylor back down?

Good for Him. I have always been overly bullish on him. He's definitely what this team needs offensively.

It probably should be Bloomquist or Weeks. But I realistically see Taylor being sent down so they don't have to dump anyone.

I don't think Lloyd wants Miller as full-time SS so that may save Taylor.

I agree with you here, my vote would be cut Weeks loose. But my opinion is a little biased because I really like Bloomquist and can't stand Weeks.

If Cruz is going to stay in RF then Miller should DH.

And ya Ackley sucks right now but I'd rather him be on the bench over Weeks, he literally brings nothing to the team besides making Ruggiano a wasted roster spot.

The thing is Weeks is actually doing what you brought him here to do, hit lefties. In 25 Abs vs lefties he's .320/.393/.600 and in 33 Abs vs righties he's .091/.231/.091.
If Ack did his job vs righties it might be easier to limit weeks vs righties.
Bloomquist main value is versatility but it isn't what it used to be. He isn't a viable shortstop. I think we all like Willie more but Weeks probably has more value to the team at this point

I'm not trying to say Ackley is better but Weeks limited value against righties doesn't offset the fact he doesn't contribute to the team in anything besides a rightly bat that puts zero fear in an opposing manager and he has zero versatility. Bloomquist may not bring much to the offense but we are talking about the end of the bench guys where versatility is crucial because guys need days off and Willie can play every position better than Weeks and him and Ackley would be guys off the bench to run.
